Westfield Animal Hospital is an AAHA accredited veterinary clinic and is a part of Pet Vet Care Centers. As part of this externship, students will mimic the RISE mentorship program to get a better understanding of not only the program, but the mentor(s) and hospital(s) as well. "The RISE Mentorship program is a rotational, immersion & skill-building, experience structured to support the transition from academia into clinical practice. Participants will be paired with an experienced mentor, while they practice medicine and manage their own caseload."

We boast state-of-the-art equipment, including an Epoc handheld blood analysis tool for rapid results, dental digital radiography, in-house ultrasound equipment, and top-notch boarding facilities.
Students will be expected to work 40 hours a week, which includes potential weekend days (both Saturday and Sunday). The role of the students will depend on the individual student as well as the duration of time spent at this externship. All students will be encouraged to assist during procedures and surgeries, shadow client interactions, and help with general exams as well as diagnostic interpretations.
