Two week elective externing at our clinic. Externs will be going into exam rooms with the DVM, going over diagnostic plans, reviewing charts, doing physical exams.
The extern will also be aiding in surgeries ie scrubbing in for soft tissue surgeries, evaluations and discussion of radiographs with dental cleanings
3 Front desk/ client services reps, 6 technicians, 3 DVMs, 4 kennel staff members, 1 office manager; 1 groomer
Digital radiographs for dentals and full body rads, mobile ultrasonagrapher if needed; IV fluids, EKG, SPO2, BP monitoring etc in surgeries; Cold laser therapy; surgery suite, dental suite, boarding facility, grooming facility
They will be shadowing the DVM and assisting with any procedure that they would like to. We are fully staffed, so do not need another technician, but are looking forward to mentoring. We expect students to be present for 40 hr a week, typically 4 10 hour days, with a 2 hour lunch those days.
This extern has family members nearby and will be staying with them
