Description of Elective Experience:
Extensive hands-on experience in high quality equine referral setting. Opportunity to participate in cases of equine amputation and prosthesis.
Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:
Full-service surgical facility for general and orthopedic surgery with state-of-the-art equipment. Two associate veterinarians and active veterinary student population.
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
Students will actively participate with diagnostic imaging, hands on surgical and anesthesia experience, and reproductive procedures. Six days per week plus after-hours emergency call duty.
