Description of Elective Experience:
first day will see how clinic runs, 2nd day will start taking histories, talking with clients, figuring treatment plan with help from the DVM, Will be able to work up case and perform most/all treatment. Will set up surgeries during the 2 weeks for the student with assistance. Can set up some horse dental/vaccinations/xrays/procedures.
Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:
DVM will be present, we have about 5 techs to help, lots of equipment
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday all day, 1st Wednesday will be off, work 1st Saturday morning. On the 2nd week student will work Wednesday, the last Saturday student will be off. Student does not have to take the days off if they don't want to.
