Student will be able to observe in any and all surgeries performed during experience and if warrented will be able to assist said surgeries. Observe numerous small animal appointments, large animal appointments and surgeries and to help with any after hours emergencies.
Texas Avian & Exotic Hospital is an exotic exclusive practice that serves as a referral hospital, but also acts as a primary care and emergency facility. We are fully equipped with a surgery suite, CT, radiology, ultrasound and some in-house laboratory equipment. We see a variety of species including birds (parrots, poultry, raptors), small mammals (rabbits, ferrets, rodents, etc), reptiles (lizards, snakes, tortoises), new world primates and even some small to medium-sized exotic cats.

Two doctor, small animal practice. We do a lot of appointments and surgeries three days a week! Lots of great learning experiences.
Heather Walker will work under the State Public Health Veterinarian at the Minnesota Department of Health, as we wind up our COVID response and re-establish our normal surveillance and outreach activities. She will also participate in veterinary checks of thousands of sheep and goats entering the state fair.
Student is welcome to house with staff members and immerse himself in local culture.
