East El Paso Animal Hospital is a very busy multi doctor practice that sees primariarly small animals but also sees some horses and exotics. Services provided include medicine annd surgery with endoscopy, ultrasound, laser therapy and laser surgery, and dentistry.
Student will be able to observe and work along side clinicians in emergency, surgery, radiology, ophthalmology and rehabilitation.
Central West Virginia Animal Hospital is a progressive, single doctor practice in rural West Virginia. Externs will work closely with the doctor throughout the day. We hope to give the extern as many opportunities to gain hands-on practice with clinical skills and surgery depending on their understanding and comfort-level with such tasks. As the only veterinary clinic in the area, we see a wide range of both small and large animal cases.
Our practice is located in a referral center that includes Internal Medicine, Surgery Practice, 24 hour Emergency center and RadioCat. Our caseload averages 70 to 100 clients and 4 to 8 surgeries weekly
Fox Veterinary Hospital, Inc. is a full-service veterinary medical facility, located at 10735 LaGrange Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035. Est. 1951; We are a 4 doctor(currently 2) small animal general practice that has 17 employees including 2 Veterinarians, 5 Registered Veterinary Technicians including the Practice Manager, 3 Veterinary Assistants, 4 Receptionists, 3 Kennel Assistants. We are owned by 4 Veterinarians and conduct business through a board of directors who meet monthly.
We predominantly see canine and feline patients with the exception of some exotics, pocket pets and avian patients. We are by appointment only practice, but will see emergencies when we are able; otherwise we have to refer to an emergency clinic. Our doctors see patients from 8:30am - 6:30pm Monday through Friday and we do hold vaccine appointments on Saturdays from 8am - 12pm.
Externs will spend their time with each doctor during appointments and/or during surgery.
If you’ve got at least a year of veterinary school under your belt, keep the learning going in our specially designed externship programs. You’ll end up not only with more clinical experience under the mentorship of future colleagues but also an introduction to owning and running a successful veterinary practice. In our group, you’ll find a veterinary-centered approach to running a practice. Our veterinarians aren’t held to a cookie-cutter standard. We support their skill and their knowledge, and let them decide what’s best for the clients and the pets we all love.
Small animal general practice- combination of surgeries (spay, neuter, mass removal, dental) and appointments. We do see exotics from Petsmart as well.
Students will work alongside current veterinarians to help oversee internal medicine and emergency cases as well as routine preventative care appointments commonly seen in General Practice. Students will also get hands-on experience with technical skills as well as dental and surgical experience.

Observe small animal caseload including office appointments, clinical techniques, administration of x-rays, handling of prescription medications, dental and surgery. Observation of surgeries will include such processes as anesthesia, prepping for surgery, and post surgical monitoring.
