Privately owned and operated, our three AAHA-accredited hospitals provide full-service small animal general medicine, surgery, theriogenology, and urgent care services. Our externship program offers students comprehensive exposure to a variety of disciplines in a fast-paced private practice setting. Students can expect to become familiar with the practice of veterinary medicine through participation in client communication, hospital operations, and medical and surgical services.
We provide the opportunity to work as a small animal general practitioner. The student will be directly supervised by a veterinarian and will be able to examine and work-up clinical cases. The student will have the option to discuss cases or disease processes in-depth at the end of each day. The student can assist in surgical and dental procedures.

Okay, now that we got that out of the way, and hopefully grabbed your attention, here’s a bit more detail about our practices:
Meet Dr. David Eddleman
A native of Missouri, I graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990. I started out at a bustling veterinary clinic in southern Indiana before taking a position in Muncie, Indiana. The chance of a lifetime opened up to me when South Anderson Veterinary Clinic was posted for sale in 2000. In 2000, I became the official owner of SAVC. In 2009, I was unexpectedly approached about opening a second practice. And as every piece fell perfectly into place, I opened Country Critters Veterinary Hospital in the Spring of 2010. We even had an appointment the first day we were open. Today, both practices are thriving and growing quickly, with an all-star TEAM and great clients.
I am always looking to bring another veterinarian into the SAVC/CCVH family, even for internships and externships. I believe great things happen when everyone is willing to roll up their sleeves and work together with a common goal in mind. In our daily practice, we strive to care for each animal as our own. Because we believe that the pet-owner bond is precious and that each pet and person deserves to be loved.
If you are interested or have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me directly (or my Hospital Administrator Allison).
I hope to hear from you soon!

South Anderson Veterinary Clinic
South Anderson Veterinary Clinic is a full-service, Christian-owned, companion animal hospital that has been an anchor in the community since I purchased it in 2000. We continue to grow and expand our expertise each year, providing us the opportunity to open our doors for interns/externs.
We have weekly doctor meetings to discuss current and new protocols and to have a relaxing lunch together. The current staff-to-doctor ratio is 8:1. Our lobby, lab/pharmacy, and doctors' office areas have been recently remodeled and updated. The kennel runs are custom Snyder runs and freshly painted.

Primarily an ambulatory equine/small animal dental practice, with general medicine included.
Hospital and Ambulatory Equine specialty clinic. Board certified internal medicine, surgery, diagnostic imaging and sport medicine. Based in Wellington. Official vets for the Winter Equestrian Festival.
Fast-paced exposure to urgent care, critical care, soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries, wellness and some behavior cases. Mainly focusing on feline and canine companion animals.
Brookside Animal Hospital is the third longest continuous running hospital in Texas. We've been providing care since 1955. Brookside is an established small animal general practice that also sees exotic animal species, along with the occasional large animal patient. We’re in a small town that is 30 minutes South of the DFW metroplex. Our clinic sits on 22 acres. We have a separate boarding facility, a barn, stalls, cattle chute, and pens.
Students would work closely with the veterinarian on staff. They would assist in triage, surgical procedures, appointments, client communication, charting, and clinical work-ups.
Docton Animal Clinic is a 5 doctor, 4 RVT small animal general practice located in Xenia, Oh, about 1 hour southwest of Columbus. We serve the clients in and surrounding Xenia, which not only gives us a variety of cases, but also a variety of clientelle. We offer wellness services, daily urgent care, senior care, end-of-life care, general surgery, such as spays, neuters, mass removals, foreign body exporatory; routine dental care with digital dental x-ray and dentistry including extractions; in-house laboratory, ultrasound technology, digital x-rays and a fully stocked pharmacy. DVM students can expect to be involved with all of the above under close supervision and mentorship. Although our doctors are general practitioners, they each have their own areas of interest they will share with the student; areas of personal interest include cytology, feline medicine, geriatric medicine and dentisty. Students will be directly involved with client education, performing exams on wellness and ill/urgent care patients, making recommendations for diagnostics, creating treatment plans, administer vaccines/other injectables and discussing possible diagnosis and/or prognosis with clients. Students will draw blood, place catheters, anesthetize and/or intubate patients, assist in surgery, perform dental cleanings and extractions, and be involved with any emergencies that occur within the course of business hours.
Busy general practice with a lot of internal medicine and surgical experience. Client communications and specialists for internal medicine, ultrasound and echocardiograms frequently travel to this hospital.
