Students will spend their day riding along with a licensed veterinarian
Our focus will be on teaching HQHV spay/neuter and shelter population management. Students will also have opportunities to shadow practitioners in the general medicine clinic associated with the Humane Society to showcase access-to-care practices.
The student will be treating hospitalized animals as well as outpatient. We are a very busy hospital and see approximately 80 to 100 patients daily. We usually have four doctors every single day working so the student will have interaction with many different doctors. We also have specialist that come to our hospital Three days a week. We have cardiology internal medicine and a critical care. We have ultrasound available and Dr. Richter, the owner of the practice does many surgeries, including spinal knees any soft tissue as he has been practicing for 40+ years. The student will be exposed to many different cases while in our hospital.
Student will experience daily routine of general practice including preventive medicine and wellness care as well as creating diagnostic work ups and treatment plans. Students are encouraged to gain hands on experience with exams, minor procedures/treatments, sample collections, etc. Student will have the opportunity to experience various surgeries, possibly regenerative (pending availability), rehabilitation and physical therapy cases, and urgent care.
General practice with exotic patients, surgery 2-3 days per week.
Surgery and small animal GP appointments
Travel on farm calls for routine equine dentistry appointments. Occasional other equine veterinary appointments.
We are certified as a veterinary teaching hospital through providing annual elective experiences to students of Chungbuk national university.
Busy small animal practice with boarding facility and grooming. Support staff of 18. 30-40 appointments per day, 1-2 dental procedure & 3-5 surgeries (soft tissue and bone surgeries). Lead by Gamal Guirges, DVM with over 40 years experience in practice.
