Our clinic is a small animal practice that offers the latest medicine in dentistry (with digital x-ray available), diagnostics (digital x-ray, in-house Heska lab, outside lab reports, ultrasound), preventative care, hospitalization and care for sick/ill/injured pets, extensive surgeries as well as preventatives/electives (ACl repair, cystotomies, spay/neuters, exploratory, and many more).

Work with staff veterinarians to provide routine and emergncy veterinary care to lab animal used to support infectious disease research to include necropsy, pathology, didatic and BSl3 training.

Our two-doctor mixed animal practice treats patients ranging from cats and dogs to horses and other farm animals. The student will ride along during farm calls, treat patients, assist with surgeries, utilize our Avimark database, and have daily discussions with the veterinarian. We are located in rural Indiana

Primarily dairy herd health medicine, but also a small amount of beef, goat, and sheep medicine.  Daily visits to dairy facilities performing palpation, health evaluation and nutritional consulting.  Also calf health on facilities that raise their own replacement heifers. The student will palpate cows, perform exams and assist in surgery. Work calves to include dehorns, vaccinations and tattoos. Assist in calf deliveries and other obstetric procedures. Fertility exam bulls. Evaluate and treat sick animals.

The Yerkes National Primate Center, Division of Animal Resources Veterinary Externship Program is designed to allow third and fourth year veterinary medical students the opportunity to experience the multifaceted field of Laboratory Animal Medicine as specifically relating to nonhuman primates.  In addition, the student can expect to learn the particular needs, regulations and guidelines associated with the use of non-human primates in biomedical research.  Laboratory Animal Medicine is a board-certified discipline that combines clinical medicine, preventative medicine, pathology, recognition/development of animal models, regulatory oversight, and collaborative/independent biomedical research.

Extern will shadow doctors in appointments, dentistry procedures, and surgery procedures. The extern will be allowed to assist in patient care, medicine, and procedures based on their comfort level and experience.
